[Premiere Video Stream] Pappa TARAHUMARA -Ship in A View-

From April through August we will stream productions directed by Japanese theater director Hiroshi Koike.
By streaming these productions we hope to reach out to a wider range of audience. Hiroshi Koike’s craft comes to life as he blends drama, dance, music and video to conduct harmony from differences.
Presenting Pappa TARAHUMARA’s Ship in A View - 1997 premier performance at Saison Theater, Tokyo as the first video in the streaming series.

The COVID19 pandemic has made it difficult to share space in a theatre. As a company that produces performances we have decided to stream past works directed by Hiroshi Koike to finance KIKH Bridge Project into the next year.
About Ship in A View
Koike’s roots are in a town by the sea in the 60’s. The town and sea are the motif of the production. The different personalities and landscapes evoke a visceral sense of the atmosphere in Japan
The ship connects the town to the world outside, it can also be an exit to the world outside. The townscape brimming with nostalgia evokes a poem. Let the ship hold the simple yearning to escape that cannot be fulfilled.
In 2002 Ship in A View was invited to the Venice Biennale and since then has toured to eight countries around the world.
